To Czech Republic and Back Again

Family letter by Debra

Dear ladies,

135,136, 137...154 each mile marker that comes into view as we travel from the east coast, to the boarder of Mexico, and from the west coast to the mid-west reminds me of where we have been, where we are now, and how much further we must go. As for each mile or year that passes reminds me of the loving hand of God and the marks He has allowed in my life. My prayer is that they (those mile stones) would show others where I came from, where I am now, and how far I must still go.

That this may be a sign among you, that when your children ask their fathers in time to come, saying, What mean ye by these stones? ...and these stones shall be for a memorial unto the children of Israel for ever. Joshua 4:6-7.

Jeff continues to send messages or devotionals to the faithful members of Bible Baptist Church in Brno, Czech Republic. These message are meant to remind thehears of where they once were, where they are now spiritually and what the Lord has for them in the future. We pray that their lives would be a marker, a memorial; to those around them of what a walk with the Lord will do.

Putting down memorials for others can take some planning on our part, so as we sat in Santa Fe setting our route for Iowa, we decided to surprise the grand children. We travelled north to Colorado where we were able to spend three more wonderful days in each of our daughter's homes. Our prayer is that these visits were a blessing and a memorial to our grand children. We desire to show them the power of God, and allow Him to work things out for His honour and to fulfil our desires.

Most of you know that James started his first semester of college this January - sure do miss him. He just finished his mid-terms and we must say he did wonderful. So that is where he is now, but where is he headed? He informed us that the Monday after spring break he would be sitting down with his advisor to lay out next fall's semester and to prepare an over plan leading to his degree in four years. As for David, 10th grade is nearly complete. He is on lesson 125 with 9 weeks left in this school year. We have purchased books for the eleventh grade which David will complete back in the Czech Republic.

And me! Ready to go home... It will be quite different this time seeing that we down sized, putting the remainder of our furniture, appliances and personal items into storage. Jeff and I have started looking on-line at apartments to rent. We are trying to get a feel for what is out there and what is coming to the market place. The cost of rent and utilities is always a concern of ours, but we continue to leave that in the Lord's hands. I am looking forward to a new place to live and to prepare for my husband, my son, and the ministry among the Czechs.

Till the next time; what mile-markers have the Lord allowed in your life? - He knows where we have been, where we are now, and where we are going.

Love and prayers,

Debra
